They are not iron on though heat can improve stickiness.
They stick anywhere but I would suggest cleaning the surface prior to application - dirty, dusty and wet surfaces will prevent sticking.

Wadda sticky patch! Wasn't really happy with the spot where I first sticked it on to but couldn't get it off anymore because of its massive sticking power. Lucky me I bought two of them in first place. Wadda life!
